real journeys
real change

For a long time, I was running on empty. As a single mom working long, unpredictable shifts at a hospital, my days were exhausting before they even ended. By the time I got home, I had nothing left to give, not to myself, and barely to my child. Exercise always felt like something I should be doing, but never something I realistically had the energy or time for.
I kept telling myself I’d start “when things slowed down.” But they never did.
What finally changed wasn’t my schedule it was my mindset. Training at Alleia Apartments in Long Meadow Farms helped me realize I didn’t need to do everything perfectly or all at once. I just needed a plan that fit my real life. No pressure. No guilt. Just showing up when I could.
Some days it was a full workout. Some days it was just showing up and doing what I could. And that was enough.
Over 10 months, those small, consistent efforts added up in a big way. I lost over 55 pounds, but more importantly, I gained strength, confidence, and energy I didn’t think I’d ever get back. I finally started feeling like myself again.
Now I can keep up with my child. I feel good in my body. And exercise no longer feels like another thing draining me, it actually gives me energy.
This journey taught me that you don’t need more time… you need a plan that fits your life. Especially if you’re a single mom or a healthcare worker stretched thin, this is proof that it is possible.
Before I started training at Granary Flats in Harvest Green, I honestly felt stuck. As a working mom of three and a wife, my days were nonstop work, kids, schedules, responsibilities. By the time I had a moment for myself, I was exhausted. Exercise felt overwhelming, and I had almost convinced myself that this was just how life was going to be in my 40s.
But I knew something had to change.
When I started training, my goal wasn’t just weight loss, it was to feel like me again. I wanted more energy, more confidence, and to be able to keep up with my life instead of feeling like it was running me.
Over the next 11 months, I lost 38 pounds, but what I gained meant even more. Strength. Endurance. Confidence. Belief in myself again.
The workouts were challenging but realistic. They fit into my busy life instead of adding stress to it. Little by little, I felt stronger physically and mentally. I could move better, breathe easier, and actually enjoy being active again.
One of my proudest moments was completing a 10K in Denver with my friend something I never imagined I’d be able to do. Crossing that finish line wasn’t just about the race; it was proof of how far I’d come. A year earlier, I wouldn’t have believed this was possible.
This journey wasn’t about perfection. It was about consistency, support, and showing up even on the hard days. I’m stronger, healthier, and more confident than I’ve been in years not just as a woman, but as a mom and wife, too.
If you’re a busy mom wondering if you still have time to take care of yourself, I promise you do. And it’s worth it.

For years, I felt stuck in the same cycle — losing weight, gaining it back, and starting all over again. I tried different diets, quick fixes, and plans that never truly fit my life. As a working mom and wife, my days were full, and my health always seemed to fall to the bottom of the list.
When I started training at Grandea Apartments in Lakemont. I knew I needed something different. I wasn’t looking for another short-term solution — I wanted something sustainable, something I could actually stick with.
What changed everything for me was learning how to fuel my body the right way. Nutrition became the foundation of my success. Instead of restriction or guilt, I learned balance. Instead of starting over every few months, I built consistency. That shift alone helped me finally break free from the yo-yo dieting cycle I had been stuck in for years.
Over 9 months, I lost 53 pounds, but the biggest transformation wasn’t just physical, it was mental and emotional too. I felt stronger, more confident, and in control of my choices again.
The workouts didn’t just help me lose weight, they made me strong. Strong enough to enjoy movement again, to stay active, and to say yes to adventures I once would’ve avoided. One of my proudest moments was traveling to Banff with my friends, where I was able to hike, explore, and fully enjoy the experience without feeling held back or exhausted. I felt capable, energized, and confident in my body.
This journey wasn’t about perfection. It was about showing up consistently, building healthy habits, and learning how to support my body instead of fighting it. I didn’t just lose weight, I gained confidence, freedom, and a lifestyle I can maintain.
If you’ve ever struggled with yo-yo dieting or felt like your goals were out of reach, I want you to know this: change is possible. With the right guidance, support, and mindset, you can feel strong, confident, and proud of what your body can do.
For a long time, I put everyone else first my family, my job, my responsibilities. Somewhere along the way, I put myself at the very bottom of the list. I kept telling myself I’d focus on my health “when things slowed down,” but they never did.
I was working long hours, mostly from home, and it became so easy to snack throughout the day without even realizing it. By the time work ended and my kids needed me, I had nothing left to give. I’d promise myself I’d wake up at 5 a.m. to work out… but the snooze button almost always won. I felt tired, overwhelmed, and disconnected from the version of myself I used to be.
That’s when I knew something had to change not just for me, but for my family too.
Training at Granary Flats in Harvest Green helped me shift my mindset completely. I realized that taking care of myself wasn’t selfish, it was necessary. I had to make my health a priority if I wanted to truly be present for the people I love.
Over a little more than a year, I lost 41 pounds, but the biggest change wasn’t just physical. I gained my energy back. I started feeling like the version of myself I remembered from my 20s, strong, confident, and capable.
I also learned how to fit movement into my real life. Instead of feeling guilty for not having an hour to work out, I learned how to use small pockets of time even 10 minutes here and there during the workday to stay active and consistent. Those small efforts added up in a big way.
Now, I can keep up with my kids, enjoy being active again, and actually look forward to moving my body. I don’t end the day completely drained anymore, I feel energized, balanced, and present.
This journey taught me that taking care of myself didn’t take anything away from my family, it gave them a healthier, happier version of me.

For a long time, my biggest obstacle wasn’t my body, it was my mindset.
I had convinced myself that because of past injuries, I just couldn’t work out anymore. Every time I thought about starting, the negative thoughts would take over. I told myself I was too limited, too far behind, or that I’d only end up in pain again.
So I didn’t start.
I wanted to feel better, but fear kept me stuck, afraid of making my injuries worse and unsure of what I could even do safely anymore.
Training at West End Apartments completely changed that for me. Instead of pushing through pain, I learned how to move around my injuries. The focus on strength training, mobility, and intentional stretching helped my body feel supported instead of stressed. I finally realized that movement could actually help me heal instead of holding me back.
Little by little, my confidence grew. I stopped focusing on what I couldn’t do and started celebrating what I could do. I learned how to move safely, build strength, and trust my body again.
Over time, those small, consistent efforts added up. I lost over 49 pounds, but the biggest transformation was how I felt stronger, more capable, and no longer defined by my past injuries.
One of my proudest moments was being able to truly enjoy my 20th wedding anniversary with my husband walking, celebrating, and being fully present without pain holding me back. That alone made every step of this journey worth it.
This experience taught me that you don’t have to be fearless or pain-free to begin. You just need the right support, a thoughtful plan, and someone who helps you move forward safely.
If you’ve ever felt limited by past injuries or trapped by negative thinking, I want you to know this: you are not broken and it’s never too late to start.

I wasn’t trying to be perfect, I just wanted to feel confident on my wedding day.
Between working full-time and being deep into my PhD program, my days were packed from start to finish. Mental fatigue was constant, deadlines never stopped, and taking care of myself always seemed to fall to the bottom of the list. I knew I wanted to feel good in my body, but I didn’t know how to make it work with everything else on my plate.
Training at Elan Apartment in Harvest Green, Richmond, TX changed that for me.
What made the difference wasn’t pressure or extreme workouts, it was having a realistic plan that actually fit into my life. The workouts were efficient, manageable, and gave me structure without adding stress. I didn’t feel overwhelmed or guilty if life got busy. I just stayed consistent in a way that felt sustainable.
Over the course of six months, I lost 37 pounds, but more importantly, I gained confidence, strength, and trust in myself again. I felt comfortable in my body something I hadn’t felt in a long time, and I walked into my wedding feeling proud, strong, and at peace with myself.
This journey showed me that you don’t need a perfect schedule or endless free time to take care of your health. You just need the right support, a realistic plan, and the willingness to show up for yourself.
