More Confidence▪️More Energy▪️Sustainable Consistency
"I finally found something I could stick with"
As a single mom working long hospital shifts, I was exhausted. Between work, family, and everything else competing for my time, exercise always seemed to be the first thing pushed aside. I didn’t need another extreme program or a schedule I couldn’t maintain. I needed something that could actually fit into my life. Training focused on short, realistic workouts, personalized guidance, and consistency instead of perfection. I could train where I lived without adding another commute or trying to find hours I simply didn’t have. Ten months later, I had lost more than 35 pounds—but the biggest change wasn’t just the number on the scale. I had more energy. I felt stronger. I was more confident. And for the first time in a long time, taking care of myself felt like something I could actually sustain.

“I wanted to feel like me again.”
Between work, raising three kids, and everything that came with family life, I was exhausted and had almost accepted that this was simply how life in my 40s would feel. Training at Granary Flats gave me a realistic way to make fitness part of my life without adding more stress. Over 11 months, I lost 38 pounds, became stronger and more confident, and accomplished something I once never imagined completing a 10K in Denver. The biggest lesson? I didn’t need perfection. I needed a plan I could consistently stick with.

A WAKE-UP CALL THAT CHANGED MORE THAN HIS WEIGHT

More Energy • Better Sleep • Healthier Numbers • Moving With Confidence
“I started because of my health. I kept going because I wanted to be there for the moments that matter.”
Chris Didn't Start Because He Loved Working Out. He Started Because He Got a Wake-Up Call. When he went in for a routine doctor's visit, he wasn't expecting the conversation that followed. His weight had been creeping up for years. He knew he wasn't as active as he used to be. But hearing that his blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar were all moving in the wrong direction—and that there were concerns about his liver and kidney health—made things feel different. This wasn't about fitting into smaller clothes anymore. It was about his health. And for the first time in a while, he knew something needed to change. He didn't change everything at once. He started with something he knew he could do: drink less alcohol. Then he began making small changes to the way he ate. Nothing extreme. No crash diet. No attempt to become a completely different person overnight. Just better decisions, made more consistently. Once he felt ready to add exercise, he reached out to me. And that's when we started training together right inside the fitness center at Tamarron. He didn't need another gym membership. He didn't need to figure out complicated workouts on his own. We used the equipment he already had access to and built a program around his current fitness level, his schedule, and what his body could comfortably handle. Four weeks later, something started changing. It wasn't the scale that impressed him most. It was his energy. He noticed that he wasn't feeling as drained throughout the day. Everyday activities started feeling a little easier. The workouts that initially challenged him began feeling more manageable. So we kept going. Not perfectly. Just consistently. Then came the update I didn't expect. About three months into training, he told me: “I stopped snoring.” His wife was apparently enjoying his fitness program almost as much as he was. For the first time in years, he felt like he was sleeping better—and according to her, so was she. It was a funny moment, but it also represented something bigger. The benefits were beginning to show up outside the gym. Better sleep. More energy. More confidence in what his body could do. And those small wins gave him another reason to keep going. Eight months after he started, he went back to his doctor. This time, the conversation was very different. He had lost 46 pounds of body fat. His blood pressure and cholesterol had improved. His blood sugar numbers were moving in a much healthier direction. But perhaps the biggest change couldn't be measured on a lab report. He had proven to himself that he could actually do this. And then came the moment that put all of it into perspective. The Goal Was Never Just to Lose 46 Pounds. Not long afterward, his daughter got married. He put on his suit. He stood beside her. And he walked her down the aisle. Later that evening, when it was time for the father-daughter dance, he wasn't worried about whether his knees would hurt, whether he'd need to sit down, or whether he'd have enough energy to enjoy the reception. He was simply there. Present. Moving. Smiling. Dancing with his daughter. With little to no joint discomfort getting in the way of the moment. And that's ultimately why the work mattered. The 46 pounds mattered. The improved numbers mattered. But they weren't the destination. They helped him get back to living the life those numbers were supposed to protect.
